Crypto Research From an Analyst Team You Can Name

Anyone can publish a price target. The questions worth asking are who wrote it, what they looked at before they wrote it, and whether you will ever hear about it again when it turns out to be wrong. This page is the answer to all three: what our research covers, how much of it there is, how it gets made, and which parts of it cost nothing.

The Output

What the Research Covers, and How Much of It There Is

Counts first, because volume is one of the few things about a research service you can check before you pay for it. These are read off our own sitemaps rather than rounded up.

  • One project at a time

Crypto Spotlight Reports: what a project does, recent developments, what is ahead, and the on-chain and sentiment data behind the read. A new one each week, and older ones revised as projects change. 105 published so far.

  • The portfolio, and the reasoning

Daily Updates carry the positions taken and closed and the argument for each one at the time it was made, plus market reads and regulation as it lands. 1,743 published.

  • Analysts you can question

The monthly Pro Q&A and fortnightly live workshops, held and recorded live inside the private community and published for members to watch back. 119 sessions so far.

  • The archive

121 headline analysis reports and 254 dated market snapshots, written across 2020 and 2021. Kept and readable, and described here as an archive rather than as current cadence, because that is what it is.

One count we are not publishing

There is a further library of member-only data reports on the platform, republished from outside data providers alongside our own. We have not put a number on it here, because our own count of it is an estimate and an estimate printed as a fact is exactly how figures on finance sites go wrong.

How the Research Gets Made

Four stages. The one worth reading twice is the second, because it is the only stage that produces nothing.

  1. Stage 1

    What gets looked at

    • A project, a market question, or something a member has asked the team to cover
    • Our team reviews member requests and develops content from what is asked for
    • The project itself, plus its on-chain and sentiment data, read directly
  2. Stage 2

    What gets rejected

    • Most of what the team looks at never becomes a report
    • The filter is a named framework, applied the same way each time
    • A project that fails it is a project you never have to read about
  3. Stage 3

What gets published, and what goes with it

    • The conclusion and the reasoning together, so you can tell when it stops being true
    • Positions taken and closed on the day it happens, with the argument for each
    • The things we decided against, and why we decided against them
  4. Stage 4

    What happens when it changes

    • Older reports are revised as projects change rather than left as written
    • A reversal is published as its own update, naming what changed the view
    • You can put it to an analyst live, on the record, in the monthly Pro Q&A
  5. Publishing the rejections is the unusual part

It is easier to publish only the calls that worked. We publish the exits, the reversals and the positions we decided against, because a research service that shows you nothing but its winners is showing you a highlight reel rather than a process. The archive contradicts itself in places for the same reason, and it should.

Fit

Who This Research Is Written For

It is written for one kind of reader. Saying which kind is more useful than pretending it suits everybody.

  • You make your own decisions

You hold your own keys and you place your own trades. What you want is somebody to have done the reading and to show their working, not somebody to press the button on your behalf.

  • You do not have time to read everything

Following every project, thread, report and governance forum is a full-time job. The research exists so that it does not have to be your second one.

  • You want the reasoning, not the verdict

A conclusion you cannot interrogate is worth very little six months later. The reports carry the argument behind them, and the analysts are reachable in the monthly Pro Q&A and through Ask the Analysts if you want to push back on it.

Who it is not for

It is not for anyone after trade signals, entry and exit calls, or a promise about returns. Our research is general information only and none of it takes your objectives, financial situation or needs into account. We do not place trades, we never hold your assets, and if you want advice built around your own circumstances you want a licensed financial adviser.

Access

What Is Free, and What Is Behind the Member Gate

A research business that is vague about this is usually vague on purpose. Here is the whole boundary in one place.

The line is drawn in the same place every time. Education, market commentary and reference material are published. The live portfolio and the current positioning stay inside the membership, and anything that would take one reader's circumstances into account is never published anywhere, at any price.

Common Questions About Crypto Research

Who writes Collective Shift crypto research?

An internal analyst team, led by a Director of Research. The whole team is named on our about page, every one of them has a page of their own and a written biography on it, and the analysts who turn up in fortnightly live workshops are the same people whose names are on the reports.

That is a structural choice rather than a marketing one. Research published under a house voice cannot be checked, cannot be questioned and cannot be wrong out loud. Research published under a name can be all three.

What is in a crypto research report?

In a Crypto Spotlight Report: what the project actually does, what has happened recently, what is ahead, and the on-chain and sentiment data behind the read. In a Daily Update: a position taken or closed and the reasoning at the time, or a market or regulatory development and what it changes.

What is in all of them is the argument. A conclusion on its own tells you what somebody thought on the day they wrote it. The reasoning tells you when it has stopped being true, and that is the part you need six months later.

Do you publish research when the team gets it wrong?

Yes, and it is the first thing we would point at. Positions get closed, views get reversed, and when that happens it is published as its own update naming what changed and why, on the day it happened.

Older reports are revised as projects change rather than left as they were written. It means the archive disagrees with itself in places, which is what an honest archive looks like.

How much of the research archive is still current?

Two parts of it are not, and we would rather say so than let the volume do the talking. The 121 headline analysis reports and the 254 dated market snapshots were written across 2020 and 2021. They are kept because they are a record of how the team reasoned at the time, not because they describe the market now.

The current output is the Daily Updates, the Crypto Spotlight Reports, which are revised as projects change, the monthly Pro Q&A and fortnightly live workshops, and the Shift Portfolio, which is reviewed weekly.

Can I use your crypto research as financial advice?

No. Everything we publish is general information only and none of it takes your objectives, financial situation or needs into account. We do not provide personal financial advice, on this site or inside the membership.

In our own words on our reports page, these reports are not "picks", they are just another "tool in your toolbox" for conducting your own research and analysis. If you want a recommendation built around your specific circumstances, that is a licensed financial adviser, and we will say so.

General information only. Nothing on this page takes your objectives, financial situation or needs into account, and it is not personal financial advice. Crypto assets are volatile and you can lose money. Report and session counts were read from our own sitemaps on 3 August 2026.
